Omegabrooch from Xanten. Found along the Limes and in Southgermany and Switzerland. It appeard in the 40ties of the first century AD and ended around the middle of the second century AD and was used pairwise by women. In the late second century AD it appeared again in a bigger size as a men's brooch, used up till the late 4th century AD in different shapes (See Nr. 586). Diameter 3.5 cm.

Roman mirror from Xanten, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany 1st century AD. Diameter 9.3 cm, length with handle 17.3 cm. Original made from highly lead-containing bronze which had a silver color. Picture shows the frontside and the decorated backside. Replica made from chromed bronze; highly lead-containing bronze cannot be used today because it is poisonous to work with.
